Answers to the most common questions

Quilted EHR is a new EHR built from the ground up for midwifery — not a retrofit of a general-practice tool. We launched in 2025 with a beta cohort and opened access broadly in 2026.
Yes — we have a fully integrated module that supports the invoicing for services you deliver to clients, including custom fees unique to you or standardized services and CPT codes. You can send an invoice/superbill and track status and payments. In Winter 2026 you can take and process payments from clients directly.
We do not currently have an integration with a claims clearinghouse. However, many of our customers who send claims to insurance have biller support. For them, we have a dedicated workqueue to ensure no service or charge is missed. Billers can also update claim status, payments, and adjustments so you always know the status of your accounts.
With your authorization, we can send your practice data to the Community Birth Data Registry (Foundation for Health Care Quality), one of the approved registries for licensure and credentialing requirements. Quilted EHR does not currently support integration or submission to the Perinatal Data Registry (American Association of Birth Centers).
Yes. Once an encounter is signed, any further edits are recorded. From inside the platform everyone can see the date and time of change, the name of the user who made the change, and a comparison between the prior and current version.
Not yet — integrated fax support is on our roadmap for later this year. Reach out to our team if you'd like updates as it becomes available.
Not yet — we expect to launch this feature in early 2027, with prescribing for both traditional prescription medication and naturopathic remedies. This will include prescribing for controlled substances, drug interaction checks, and allergy-aware warnings.
All data structures are different, making it hard to import and translate full records from another EHR automatically, but our team is available to help with this. Reach out to us if you need this support, and we will evaluate some solutions.

Most practices are charting in their first week. Regardless of whether you are transitioning from another EHR or setting your practice up for the first time, our onboarding team is available to help and provide hands-on support.
Yes. For groups with multiple users, we are happy to provide training to your team. Support documents and knowledge base materials are also available to everyone from within the platform.
No. Our solo and group plans are month-to-month pricing, with onboarding and training included. Custom plans may vary.
Yes. You can add and remove users as needed on a month-to-month basis. There is no annual commitment.
At this time our pricing is month-to-month. This allows you to flex up and flex down as your needs change.
A provider user is any user with charting and documentation privileges. This includes providers, students, or scribes. Practice managers, billers, or other non-providers are included at no additional cost.
Yes. Our platform is HIPAA compliant. We regularly maintain and update our security controls to ensure they meet standards. Data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3).
Yes — every plan includes a Business Associate Agreement signed at onboarding for those who need one.
Data is hosted in Amazon Web Services within the US. Client (patient) data never leaves the US, and backups are encrypted and stored separately to ensure redundancy and retention.
Our platform meets core requirements as defined by the Commission for Accreditation of Birth Centers. This includes security requirements such as role-based provisioning, audit logs, note signature, and visible change logs.
